SHRPP team interacts with Tumin-Lingee public

GANGTOK, 12 March: A team of Sikkim Himali Rajya Parishad Party, East District committee toured Kokaley, Tumin and Raley-Samdong under Tumin-Lingee constituency on Sunday. The team led by Gyalpo Tamang and Gopal Chettri interacted with the local people of these areas.
A SHRPP press release issued by general secretary, Tara Shrestha informs that the team has also taken note of the grievances of the local people of the area. People complained that many 18 September earthquake affected people have not received the relief fund as yet, the release mentions.
According to the release, people alleged that the cheques received by some as relief fund were useless since the bank did not have funds to encash these cheques. It further informs that that the people demanded that the stretch between Dikchu to Dipu Dara of the Teesta Stage V be declared as damaged area and appropriate relief and compensation be provided to the locals through an agreement between the State Government and NHPC.
The team has noted down all these grievances and would take appropriate action by forwarding these grievances to the State and Centre agencies, the release adds.
