MG Marg song & dance scores a hit, plans grand finale for 30 May

Karma Tshering Bhutia, public relations officer of the Department, informs that what is even more interesting is that the Department is not spending any money on the event.

The performances began on 04 April and the final show is scheduled to held on 30 May next week, Mr. Bhutia informs. Artists from Hamro Parivar, a local NGO from Decheling, are performing Sikkim’s traditional dances at MG Marg every evening.

“The entire programme is sponsored by private parties like hotels, TAAS, SAATO, power developers like NHPC, GATI, Lanco etc. and even by the Pawan Hans helicopter service,” the officer said.
Expressing his gratitude towards the sponsors and members of the Hamro Parivar, Mr. Bhutia said, “We are planning a grand closing ceremony on 30 May.”
The concluding day’s programme includes performances by the Sikkim Police band, Yak and Singhi chaam and performances by Hamro Parivar with Lenin Lepcha of Mangan as Master Ceremony.
