Govt officers to march in protest against circulation of offensive material targeting colleague

State government employees have strongly condemned the circulation of false and defamatory information on social media targeting a lady officer posted in the Chief Minister’s Office.
To register their condemnation, they have decided to organize a silent march on 17 September, Thursday. The rally will follow the route starting from Palace Gate-White Hall-TNA-GICI-Hospital Dara-Titanic Park-Kazi Road finishing at State Assembly Secretariat. Meanwhile, the Women’s Commission has also strongly condemned the circulation of the said offensive material and requested the Police to speed up investigations so that the culprits are arrested and booked under the relevant law.
The Commission has also written to the National Commission for Women to intervene in this matter at the national level. A copy of the FIR and all the details have also been forwarded.
The Chief Minister and the lady officer in question have already reacted strongly in their respective messages posted on Facebook and the mischief has also been condemned from wider circles including opposition groups and leaders.
