Gangtok, 18 Feb: The Black Cat Division of the army stationed in Gangtok reaffirmed its organisational commitment to the welfare of dependents of serving soldiers and veterans in Sikkim today by providing wheelchairs, crutches and hearing aids to them.
An official press release informs that Maj Gen YVK Mohan, GOC Black Cat Division, handed over these aids to the dependents of veterans who are either in old age or suffering from medical complications. Seven dependents, including four wives and three sons of veteran soldiers, were so assisted today.
Care of veteran soldiers and their dependent families is important, especially in old age and in case of medical complications, the release underlines, adding that this gesture by Black Cat Division has “further developed the faith of the needy families of the soldiers in the ethos of the Indian Army as an organization”.
