NAMCHI, 10 June: In the first-of-its-kind event here in
Namchi, the Summer Collection 2012- fashion show-cum-sale by budding fashion
designer Rinzing Choden Bhutia was held here at the Indoor Stadium this
afternoon from 3 pm.
The main attraction of the show was the presence of Miss
Sikkim 2012 Zennyla Bhutia who is also Miss North-East and Kolkata-based model Pooja,
both of whom were the show stoppers of different rounds held.
The show started with a welcome note followed by a short
address by District Collector South. AK Singh who congratulated Rinzing Choden
for organizing this show and also her parents and family members for supporting
her in this venture.
The first round of the show was the traditional round by
Rekha and group wherein traditional outfits of three ethnic communities of
Sikkim were displayed by the models. This was followed by ‘White Theme’, a
round in which the models displayed various designer outfits designed by Ms Choden.
The casual wear round, middle-aged round and party wear rounds were also held.
All the outfits displayed were designed by Ms Choden.
The show included dance performances by Aditya and a dance
group named ‘BRSTP’ followed by a face-off between Zennyla and Pooja. Area MLA,
Binod Rai was the chief guest of the show, who in his address congratulated the
young designer and her family for organizing such a show and said that this
will act as an example for others and local youth which in turn will create
awareness about the fashion world among them.
He also thanked and welcomed Pooja, model from Kolkata and
Zennyla Bhutia Miss Sikkim 2012 for their active participation and also urged
the talented youth to come forward in this field. The felicitation and memento
distribution among the participating models and guest models was done by the
chief guest, and each and every individual behind the show were also
felicitated. Miss Sikkim 2007 Sumit Dahal from Namchi was also felicitated
during the show.
The make-up of the models for the show was done by
Neeldavids’ Namchi. The programme concluded with the DJ Night which had DJ Rosh
from Gangtok playing some beats for the crowd. Others present in the show were
members of Namchi Municipal Council, officials from various departments and
others.
