Two more booked under SADA


GANGTOK, 15 April: Following on the heels of the Friday drug bust in which two alleged peddlers were arrested, the Sadar police carried out another drug raid in the capital and made two more arrests. Acting on a tip off, the Sadar police personnel raided the rented room of Rudra Adhikari, 37 and Bhim Chettri, 34, both originally from Kalchini, Jalpaiguri in West Bengal and presently residing at Manbir Colony here. In the course of the raid, the police uncovered a cache of drugs which included 1,796 tablets of spasmo proxyvon and another 90 tablets of N10, both, much abused prescription drugs
The raid was conducted late on the evening of 13 April at around 7 pm and both, Bhim Chettri and Rudra Adhikari, have been taken into custody and booked under the Sikkim Anti Drugs Act. It is further informed that the duo were earlier running a garage at Sukhapool which was damaged and eventually collapsed in a landslide following which it is reported that they took to peddling drugs. They operated from their rented premises.
