GANGTOK, 14 Nov: Muay Thai Association of Sikkim has announced plans to hold the 1st State and North East Championships in the state from 18 to 22 December at the Jorethang playground.
A press release of the association informs that the state championship will have participants from all four districts of Sikkim while martial artists from all the eight north-eastern states will participate in the north-east championship.
An organising committee has been formed with the Salghari-Zoom MLA, Madan Cintury, as chief patron and Sports & Youth Affairs Department Joint Director, Kamal Chettri, as vice-patron, Khusendra Sharma as president, Dinesh Rai as vice-president, RB Rai as general secretary, BB Rai as treasurer and Ramesh Chettri as publicity secretary. The committee also has Ashok Subba, BB Rakdung, Kamal Gurung, Santosh Sharma and Prem Pradhan as active members.
