Training held on organic Soyabean seed production

GANGTOK, 22 June: Training on organic seed production of Soyabean crop was held at Rey-Mindu Gram Prasashan Kendra 21 June. This programme was organized by Food Security & Agricultural Development Department and sponsored by Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), East District.
As per a press release, Deputy Director, East, CM Upreti briefed about the concept of ‘one crop-one village’. He also gave important information on method of seed production technology.
Dr. Pratap Subba (Agri. Dev. Officer) informed about the importance of Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in soyabean crop. Around 40 seed production growers from Sama-Sevik ward attended the programme, the release mentions.
Similarly on the next day ‘Demonstration cum Farmers Friend Interaction (FFI) on preparation of organic manure (Bokashi) and application of bio-pesticides (EM Hariyali) on soyabean crop was held at the field of Nacho Lepcha.
Dawa Sherpa and Shanti Chettri from Maple Orgtech (India) Ltd. were the resource persons. The training was also attended by Dichen Donka Lepcha (VLW), Safal Pandey (BTM), Sherap Lepcha (FA) and Mukesh Chettri, FA, it is added.
