Chief Secretary visits Rongli and Rhenock

GANGTOK, 06 Apr: Chief Secretary AK Shrivastava, continuing his field rounds of different parts of the state, toured Rongli and Rhenock of East Sikkim and had consultation meetings with SDM, Rongli, SDPO, Rongli, several BDOs, Sector Magistrates and Police Officers, Static Surveillance Teams, Video Surveillance Teams and BLOs on 05 April, 2014 between 06.20 pm to 07.40 pm.
An official communique informs that SDM, Rongli, SN Adhikari briefed the CS that everything was under control in Rongli and they are fully prepared for any exigency.
SDM, Headquarters, East, Dr. Bimal Rai apprised the Chief Secretary in general, about the election works being undertaken by the East District in the last fortnight or so, and he also touched upon issues and challenges of Rongli, Rhenock and Pakyong areas.
SDPO and Sector Officers of Rongli and Rhenock informed about the law and order situation, patrolling, MCC monitoring, surveillance, etc.
During the interaction session, BDO and Magistrate In-charge of Rhenock Constituency, BL Adhikari and BDO Regu and Magistrate in-charge of Chujachen constituency, S Rai shared their experiences, the release informs.
Similarly, the Sector and Sub Sector Magistrates, one by one, shared their experiences. The issues and difficulties raised by them were patiently heard by the Chief Secretary and the Joint Secretary, Home, and positive assurances were given. The Chief Secretary, on his part, lauded the work of officers of the area.
The Static Surveillance Team, Video Surveillance Team, Excise in charge and BLOs also gave their inputs pertaining to 8 to 10 booths.
