Tarjum mourns passing away of CT Lepcha

GANGTOK, 31 Mar: Renjyong Mutanchi Rong Tarjum [Sikkim Lepcha Association] has expressed its heartfelt condolences on the passing away of its Senior Executive Member CT Lepcha, a resident of Penlong, East Sikkim.
A two minute silence was observed at a special condolence meeting held yesterday, chaired by PS Targain Lepcha, the Tarjum’s vice president.
The late Mr. Lepcha was the son of Kindup Lepcha and Samdup Lepcha born on 20 June, 1945. He joined the SIB on 18 January, 1971 and retired as Junior Intelligence Officer under SIB in June, 2005.
The Tarjum press release remembers him as an “exemplary person, simple and soft spoken, a sincere and dedicated well versed in various aspects of Lepcha culture”.
He was instrumental in formation of the Lepcha association in the state, district and block/ village level in Sikkim. He remained a source of inspiration for the Lepchas of Sikkim. The demise of late Lepcha has created an irreparable loss to the Lepcha Community and the state as a whole, the release states.
Mr. Lepcha breathed his last at AIIMS, New Delhi, after a prolonged illness, it is informed. He is survived by his wife Rinchen Doma Lepcha and two daughters - Dr. Pema Choki Lepcha and Kincho Doma Lepcha.
