RO-East chairs meeting with teams on election duty

GANGTOK, 30 Mar [IPR]: A meeting of all the Assistant Expenditure Observer, Video Viewing Team, Video Surveillance Team, Static Surveillance Magistrate, Accounting Team and Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) with the observers was held today. The meeting was chaired by the Returning Officer, East, AK Singh today at the Conference Hall of the District Administrative Center, Sichey, East Sikkim. The meeting had the presence of Central Expenditure Observers, Rajiv Kr. Singh and Central Observer, Dinesh Boyer.

At the outset, ADC, Karmpa Bonpo informed the gathering that all the teams will be shifted to Tashi Namgyal Academy by 01 April 2014 which would make coordination and inspection easier for the teams. Central Expenditure Observer, RK Singh informed in detail about the roles and responsibilities of all the teams. During his presentation, the Observer requested the participants to carry out their duties diligently and without hurting the sentiments of the general public. Various doubts of the participating teams were also clarified by the observers and the Returning Officer.

The Returning Officer, East while briefing the officers asked them to be very specific about the procedures while carrying out their duties and ensured that the District Election Office is always ready for any assistance in case of any clarification. While lauding the efforts of the officers involved in the process of election he also said that there are certain fields which require more work.
