Sikkim’s UPSC aspirants call on Governor

GANGTOK, 13 Sept: Sikkimese students undergoing coaching for the UPSC Civil Services Examinations in Delhi called on the Governor Shriniwas Patil at Sikkim House in New Delhi on Thursday.
As per a press release, the Governor greeted the students and enquired about their preparations for the Examination. He wished them good luck and encouraged them to work hard and take advantage of the facilities being offered by the Sikkim Government to achieve success in the tough competitive examination. He also enquired about their well being and difficulties they were facing in Delhi.
There are altogether 99 students being sponsored by the Human Resources Development Department, Government of Sikkim for coaching in various institutes in Delhi. This initiative has been hailed as a strong morale booster for the students and youth of the State and is aimed to encourage them to achieve success in the most prestigious competitive examinations in the country and to reduce dependency on employment opportunities within the State, the release mentions.
