NAMCHI, 14 Feb: Winters or the holiday season for people of Sikkim is also the choicest time for burglaries as families leave for warmer places on long vacations. One such incident has come to light in Kazitar in South Sikkim.
Prakash Bista of Kazitar, who was out of station for around a week, on his return on Monday found some valuables and cash missing from his house.
SP South, Manoj Tiwari while talking to this correspondent said that the incident might have occurred a few days ago when no one was in the house but was only discovered when the victim entered his house.
Among the stolen valuables were around 13 tolas of gold and Rs. 5,000 in cash. The SP further informed that, no arrest has been made so far and the Police are trying their best to nab the culprit behind the burglary. The case has been registered at Namchi PS and investigation has begun.
