Official team inspects CMRHM works in South

NAMCHI, 15 Dec: A team of officials headed by Additional District Collector (Development) today inspected ongoing and completed works under the Chief Minister’s Rural Housing Mission at Namthang Block and Assangthang Gram Panchayat under Namchi Block.

The team inspected the completed houses at Tung-Mamring GPU and Tanzi-Bikmat GPU which are now ready to be handed over to the beneficiaries and found the construction works satisfactory. The ADC congratulated the concerned BDO, Panchayats and technical team as well as beneficiaries for the satisfactory execution of the work.
Till date, a total of 72 houses have been taken up under the scheme, out of which three have been completed and the remaining are under construction. The team also interacted with the beneficiaries and the panchayats wherein the ADC (Development) informed about the total estimated cost for different models of houses and the requirement for conversion from one model to another.
Further, he cleared doubts regarding total estimated cost of model ‘C’ house (roof slabbing) which amounts to Rs 4,89,900 and that total estimated cost includes contractors profit, VAT/Sale tax etc.
Since, contractor profit, VAT/sales tax are not applicable under the scheme where the work is not executed by contractors, the actual expenditure for construction of a house after deducting contractor profit, VAT etc. comes to Rs. 4,50,000, out of which a maximum of Rs. 50,000 is funded from MGNREGA for land development and remaining Rs. 4,00,000 is a government grant to the beneficiaries.
The officials also inspected the progress of works under CMRHM Assangthang GPU and interacted with the beneficiaries. The team consisted of BDOs, engineers from Namthang and Namchi BAC.
