MANGAN, 30 Apr: North District Co-operative Milk Producers
Union Ltd (NDCMPU) organized an awareness programme for all the Dairy farmers
of Ringhim of Ringhim-Nampatam GPU of Mangan district today at Ringhim.
The awareness programme was held on strengthening infrastructure
for quality and clean milk production for quality marketing. The programme was
attended by chairman NDCMPU, Choden Lepcha, MD, NDCMPU, Dr.BB Subba, Deputy
Director, BB Subba, Panchayat, PL Lepcha, staff and farmers.
MD, NDCMPU, Dr. Subba in his address gave information on proper
dairy milk production, better feeding system and maintenance of hygiene to keep
mulching cows healthy. Chairman, NDCMPU, Mr. Lepcha shared his experience in the
field of successful dairy farming and keeping them disease free with a proper
system.
The farmers were also provided free medicines and other essential
materials for their mulching cows and open interaction was also held where problems
and solutions were discussed. The department has also setup bulk milk chilling
plant of 500 litres capacity at Ringhim and at present the dairy farmers of the
area are producing minimum 200 litres of milk.
