GANGTOK, 30 Apr: Sikkim Krantikari Morcha president PS Tamang
[Golay] has expressed his best wishes to workers of all industrial units,
agriculture laborers, road laborers and government employees on the occasion of
the International Labor Day on behalf of the party.
In a press release issued today, Mr. Tamang alleges that in
the past 20 years, workers have been oppressed with many local laborers being
forced to work as bonded labour. It is further alleged that workers of the
state have been exploited and that many labourers in the state still cannot
feed their families.
The release goes on to add that due to the model code of
conduct Majdoor Samman Diwas of the SKM will be celebrated in a simple manner
at the party’s head-office.
