GYALSHING, 24 Oct [IPR]: The two-storied house of Phurba Sherpa of Bhareng under Ribdi GPU was destroyed in a fire that broke out in the intervening night of 22 and 23 October. All belongings of the family, including documents and ornaments were consumed by the fire.
No one was thankfully hurt in the incident.
MLA Daramdin, Tenzi Sherpa, SDM Soreng, Gaayas Pega, GVA Daramdin, Karzang Lassopa and Panchayats reached the spot the next morning. SDM Soreng handed over ex-gratia relief of Rs. 35,000 to Mr Sherpa.
Further, MLA Daramdin assured to provide a CMRHM house to the victim as well. SDM Soreng thanked local Panchayats and villagers of Bhareng for their participation in extinguishing the fire and saving the village from further damage.
