GANGTOK, 30 Oct: The Nodal Department (DESM&E) implementing the Unique Identification programme in Sikkim conducted a sensitization programme in Parakha Block Administration Center on 18 October, informs a press release.
The Panchayati Raj Institution level sensitization programme was conducted by the officers of the Nodal Department and Block Development Officer of Ranka constituency, the release informs. At present, the DESM&E has commenced UID enrolment in East and South district.
The sensitization workshop was held in Parakha BAC in order to sensitize the residents of the importance of UID and to chalk out an enrollment plan. The enrollment team will cover all gram panchayats units under the jurisdiction of the BAC, the release adds. The sensitization workshop was attended by the panchayats and residents of Parakha.
