GANGTOK, 11 Nov: Rakesh Rai, alias, Spiderman, was today at the High Court of Sikkim. The high court had in September issued a warrant of production against Spiderman. Today was the due date. The court had also issued a warrant of production against Tenzing Tamang of Gyalshing, Tikjek.
Spiderman along with Praveen Subba of Pelling, Abishek Rai of Darjeeling and Tenzing Tamang of Gyalshing, Tikjek had been acquitted by the Sessions Judge, South and West district of the murder of SD Bhutia. The State had then gone on appeal to the High Court against the acquittal. While admitting the appeal the high court had also issued a non bailable arrest warrant against co-accused Tenzing Tamang and a production warrant. Tenzing could not be produced before the court today as he is informed be lodged at the Correctional home in Siliguri with a date fixed for hearing for 15 November in a connected murder charge.
