GANGTOK, 11 July: A two-storied cowshed of Dhanapati Sapkota of Chota Singtam, near Assam Lingzey was razed to the ground by a fire sparked by a lightning strike last night.
A senior official of the Ranipool PS informs that except minor injuries to the rescuers, who managed to save the cattle, no casualties were reported. The stock of fodder and other belongings were however burned to ashes, the official informed.
The police were informed of the incident only this morning, who along with BDO, Pakyong, Dhiraj Sharma, VLO and other officials visited the spot.
