GANGTOK, 12 July: KT Chankapa, serving as the Secretary, Department of Personnel, has been transferred and posted as the Chief Electoral Officer in pursuance of a notification issued by the Election Commission of India on 22 June 2011. He replaces VB Pathak and has also been designated the Secretary, Election Department.
Over the weekend, a string of transfers affecting 17 officers from Under Secretary to Additional level were ordered. DC [North], TN Kazi, moves to HRDD as Director, exchanging places with SK Pradhan who is the new DC for North Sikkim.
Additional Chief Engineer Raju Basnet, presently posted as GM, Sikkim Power Development Corporation has been posted as ACE (Mechanical), Transport Department. Uttam Pradhan, Chief Engineer (Mechanical), Transport Department, is the new GM at SPDC.
