State Karate-do nominates members for sub-committees

GANGTOK, 18 Aug: Sikkim State Karate Do Association convened a meeting at the office of Sikkim Olympic Association at Paljor Stadium on Sunday which was chaired by the association’s general secretary, Bidhan Ballav Subba.
An SSKA press release mentions that the main objective of the meeting was to nominate members for the Referee Commission, Technical Council and Athlete’s Commission.
The meeting nominated Bijoy Gurung [5th Dan black belt, WKF] as chairman, Krishna Prasad Rai and Dina Rai as vice-chairpersons and Dichen Lepcha as secretary in the Referee Commission.
In the Technical Council the meeting nominated Bhim Bahadur Subba [5th Dan black belt, WKF] as chairman, Taraman Gurung, Navin Rai, Hem Kumari Rai and Sushmita Rai as vice-chairpersons, Sihan Bidhan Ballav Subba [7th Dan black belt, WKF] as chief technical director, Tshering Lepcha, Dingowa Hang Subba, Buddha Bir Manger and Dina Rai as directors and Bikash Pradhan as technical secretary.
Similarly, Bhanu Subba for West district, Milan Rai for South, Neemu Lepcha for East and Tshering Lepcha for North district were nominated as the district level technical secretaries while the district administration secretaries are Ganga Prasad Rai for West, Luk Tshering Lepcha for North, Krishna Prasad Rai for South and Sushmita Rai for East district.
The meeting has also appointed Binam Gurung as convener, Neemu Lepcha and Sukraj Mukhia as vice-conveners and Puran Subba as secretary in the Athlete’s Commission.
The release informs that it was also announced in the meeting that the venue of the 13th State Karate Championship 2014 scheduled to be held from 07 to 09 September has been changed to Paljor Stadium, indoor gymnasium from the earlier proposed venue at Namchi Indoor hall, South Sikkim. This, it is informed, has been done due to the ongoing renovation work at Namchi Indoor hall.
