SLYA forms adhoc body

GANGTOK, 03 Aug: Sikkim Lepcha Youth Association has dissolved its existing body and formed an adhoc body for a period of six months at a meeting held on Saturday.
A press release informs that the meeting was held under the chairmanship of former MLA Norzang Lepcha and former general secretary of the association at the conference Hall of Kurmom Lee, Development area, Gangtok. The meeting was also attended by Namgyal Lepcha [former president of SLYA] and Loden Lepcha [former president of SLYA, North District Branch].
The new adhoc body comprises of Ongden Tshering Lepcha as president, Kunga Lepcha as vice president, Lobsang Chopel Lepcha as general secretary, Dichen Lepcha and Mayalmit Lepcha as assistant general secretaries, Rickel Lepcha, Ongmit Lepcha, Rathap Lepcha and Lhamu Tshering Lepcha as joint secretaries, Palden Lepcha, Nim Dorjee Lepcha and Tshering Doma Lepcha as culture secretaries.
The association has retained Tshering Lhamu Lepcha as the treasurer and appointed Primula Lepcha as assistant treasurer. The meeting also decided to appoint Phursang Lepcha of Nayuma Television as its media secretary and appointed Damien Lepcha as the publicity secretary. Dupden Lepcha, Norjee Lepcha, Karma Tshering Lepcha (former culture secretary), Lhazey Lepcha, Phursang Lepcha and others are the executive members of the association.
The release further informs that the outgoing office bearers shared their experiences and blessed the new body in the meeting. The meeting further decided to keep all the outgoing office bearers of the association on its Advisory board.
The new adhoc body has also decided to reorganize the North and West District branches of the association at earliest.
