Paryavaran to the fore at Ravangla as well

GANGTOK, 15 June: The SDM Ravangla today officially launched Paryavaran Mahotsav 2014 for the Sub Division at Ravangla Bazaar. Heads of offices, Sub Divisional level government officers, employees, Panchayats, JFMCs, EDCs, NGOs and bazaar committees as well as representatives from Dans Co. Pvt Ltd. attended the launch, informs a press release.
According to the government direction and notification, TB Subba [ACF Territorial Ravangla] announced the different activities of clean and green Sikkim to be carried out by all the people of Sikkim.
It has also been made known to the general public that mass cleanliness drive will be carried out for Ravangla Bazaar on 18 June. All the public of Ravangla Bazaar will have to take active part in cleaning and keeping Ravangla Bazaar Green.
Cleanliness drive will also be carried out for every government office and residential premises, private institutions. Greenathon and clean Sikkim will be held at Ravangla on 23 June. The Greenathon will start from Ravangla Bazaar to Rayong Gaddi and back to Ravangla, the release informs.
It was also announced that on 25 June from 10.30 to 10.40 each and every person of Ravangla sub division will have to contribute Ten Minutes to Mother Earth by planting a sapling.
A signature campaign was also conducted at Ravangla Bazaar where many people of Ravangla pledged to conserve the earth's resources wisely.
A Seedling Distribution booth was set up at Ravangla and Kewzing bazaars from where many people received saplings for planting.

Dans Co Pvt Ltd and Microlabs Co. have joined hands with Ravangla Sub Division for this mission of Paryavaran Mahotsav 2014, the release mentions.
