SDF campaign in Tumin-Lingee reaches Lower Rakdong

MANGAN, 03 Apr: A Sikkim Democratic Front party meeting was held at Lower Rakdong in East Sikkim today in the presence of party supporters along with the panchayat and zilla members, youth and chelis of the constituency.
Addressing the gathering, the SDF candidate from Tumin-Lingee constituency, Ugen T Gyatso Bhutia highlighted the party’s different programmes and policies. He urged all the people to go through the party's election manifesto and assured to fulfill all the promises made in it.
“I have not left any stone unturned in fulfilling the public’s demands and will continue to do so in the coming days. We have never compromised with the development of the constituency as Tumin-Lingee has proven its unity,” he said.
Responding to the demands placed by the people, he accepted that these were genuine demands and that work on most of them has already begun. He further informed about the upgradation of various schools in the constituency and stressed that the people should analyze the development undertaken by SDF party during its 20-year regime under the leadership of Pawan Chamling.
Speaking on the opposition, Mr. Bhutia said that they have no agenda except disrupting the development process in the state. People should not believe in such “seasonal” parties which are creating a nuisance in the state, he said.
SDF general secretary Lhakila Tongden Lepcha urged all the people of Tumin-Lingee to remain united and appealed for votes stating that Ugen T Gyatso has stood up for the people of the area till now.
Earlier, Lower Rakdong youth representative, Nesh Lall Gurung highlighted the demands pertaining to the restoration of old route of Dikchu-Lingdok, construction of community playground at Old Dikchu School ground, beautification of Dikchu Bazaar, provision of 50 home stays, construction of new roads from Jordan Turning  till 12 Mile, establishment of veterinary centre at Sokpay Basti and compensation to those affected by the Dikchu Power project.

The meeting was also addressed by Panchayat president BB Gurung, Zilla member Samdong-Kambal Saraswati Regmi, Zilla member, Pathuk-Chandey, Hemraj Adhikari, Cheli vice convenor, Poonam Chamling and others.
