SDF has failed to implement central schemes properly, alleges Congress

GANGTOK, 30 Mar: All India Congress Committee general secretary, Luizinho Faleiro has alleged that the SDF Government has miserably failed to empower the people of Sikkim in its 20 years in power even after getting the highest per capita central assistance. The state government has failed to implement the 18 flagship programmes of the central government which is led by the Congress party, he further alleged.
Addressing a press conference today, Mr. Faleiro said that the Congress party feels special affection and bond with the people of Sikkim so the Congress led government at the centre has given the highest per capita central assistance to Sikkim in the last 10 years. He alleged that despite such support from the centre the state government has failed to empower people of Sikkim.
Mr. Faleiro said that there is no need for a manifesto if the 18 flagship programmes of the central government are implemented properly in the state. The state government spent crores of rupees in a few days but the result was zero, he alleged and added that the CBI needs to investigate how the money for central schemes has been spent in the state.
He appealed to the people of Sikkim to support Congress considering the present situation of the state. The party has been looking forward to get the support of the people of Sikkim to have Congress in the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections, he stated. If the Congress party comes to power then it will work towards making Sikkim a model state and address every issue related to the state, he further added.

Apart from the SDF and the SKM, the Congress is the only party contesting all 32 Assembly seats and the lone Lok Sabha seat here.
