41 ASHAs complete training in North Sikkim

MANGAN, 30 Mar: The third batch of 5-day residential training on the 8th Module round-4 of North District was held from 24 to 28 March for 41 Accredited Social Health Activists [ASHA] from Chungthang, Phodong and Mangan.
The training covered topics like the role responsibilities and activities of ASHAs, emergency and non emergency referral of ANC, new born care, high risk new born, weighing etc and also issues like violence against women, mental health and suicides, alcohol, drug and tobacco addiction.
Madhu Rai, Senio DPHNO, District hospital Mangan, Karma Doma [LHV, Passingdong PHC], Tshering Doma [ANM, Chungthang PHC], Jigmee N Bhutia [NGO member], Noday Lachungpa [HEO, District Hospital Mangan], Dr. Kunzang Ongmoo [Psychiatrist, Singtam Hospital], State facilitator Nabin Nobert were present as resource persons for the training.
On the 5th day, mission director Dr. PM Pradhan gave a brief presentation on ten keys of healthy sikkim, healthy lifestyle and conducting of VHND (village health nutrition day), VHSNC (village health sanitation nutrition committee) and importance of VHSNC.
