GANGTOK, 29 Nov: A 45-year-old construction worker is reported to have committed suicide in Gangtok on Thursday. The deceased, hailing from Islampur, West Bengal, had recently joined work as a mason at a construction site in Tadong, having arrived here on 25 November. Police records reveal that on 28 November, he informed one of his co-workers that he would not be coming for work after lunch. All the workers left the work site for lunch break during which he reportedly committed suicide by hanging at the construction site itself.
