Vajra Guru Dhondrup concludes at Samdruptse


NAMCHI, 28 Oct: The Vajra Guru Dhondrup which had started on 16 October at Samdruptse here concluded today. The last day of the prayer was attended by Chief Minister Pawan Chamling accompanied by Sangha MLA, Phituk Tshering Bhutia.
The Chief Minister reached Samdruptse at around 10 AM this morning and attended the morning prayer ceremony. He also met Khochhen Rinpoche who arrived yesterday from Mindroling Monastery, Dehradun. The Chief Minister presented a miniature statue of Lord Buddha to the Rinpoche.
During his brief interaction with the committee members of Samdruptse, the CM urged them to preserve and protect the sanctity of the place, and also appealed to them to provide all the required information in detail to the visitors and tourists, so that they can go back satisfied and well informed.
Further he added that the committee members should work seriously towards preventing plastic or non biodegradable products from entering the area and see that only eco friendly products are allowed inside Samdruptse complex.
He also urged the members to have a good plantation of fruit bearing trees in the area, so that flora and fauna in the area could flourish and the place as well as the whole area becomes eco and environment friendly.
Talking about the Rope Way which will be starting shortly for Samdruptse, the CM informed that it is going to be a huge attraction for tourists as well as locals, and unlike vehicles which can cause pollution these rope ways will be eco friendly. Therefore the committee members should advocate the use of ropeway in Samdruptse, he stressed.
‘Kawang’ at Samdruptse is scheduled for 29 October [Monday] by Khochhen Rinpoche. Since the first day of Vajra Guru Dhondrup, devotees from within and outside the state visited Samdruptse to participate in the fourteen-day prayer ceremony and the spiritual events associated with it.
Domestic as well as foreign tourists also visited Samdruptse during the prayers. The organizing committee, Guru Padma Sambhava Society of Namchi was the key body which was also the managing committee who conducted and organized this annual spiritual event that concluded successfully today.
