New party after panchayat elections

GOLAY CONTINUES VOLLEY OF ALLEGATIONS AGAINST CHAMLING GOVT AT ASSAM LINGZEY
ASSAM LINGZEY, 14 Oct: “We have not come here to ask for votes nor are we here regarding the Panchayat elections, we are here in front of you to make you aware and tell you all about what is happening and going on in the state, of the corruption and other undemocratic and anti-poor work being carried out by the Sikkim Democratic Front party under the leadership of Pawan Chamling,” stated dissident Burtuk MLA, PS Tamang [Golay], while addressing a gathering at Assam Lingzey under Namcheybong constituency here today.
While his tirade against his party and the State Government have been underway for a while now, a new information he included in address today was a projection on when the political party being announced by his supporters can be expected. While a new party was promised earlier for the third week of October, Mr. Tamang today announced that the party will be launched after next month’s panchayat elections.
“People are not allowed to speak against the government otherwise they get targeted, but now no one has to be afraid, everyone can speak because we will give you a party after the Panchayat elections,” he announced today while adding that corruption has increased after the SDF party came to power.
He also contended today that welfare schemes and projects were not coming from the Chamling government but were instead being provided for the people by the Central Government. Therefore, none of the schemes can be stopped or discontinued as threatened by the SDF leaders in their speeches, he added.
The MLA went on to level allegations against the SDF party of launching a dual pronged attack on the people - promising benefits on one hand and at the same time threatening them with dire consequences if they did not support the party.
“Chamling in his speeches states that 70 per cent of the budget is being used for the upliftment of the rural people and the rural areas, if this was to happen in reality, in the past 18 years all the villagers would have become rich by now”, said Mr Tamang and further accused the CM of “misleading and misguiding” the people of Sikkim.
Speaking on corruption, he said that CBI should be allowed to come to the state and investigate into the cases of corruption against the government and further presented the letter of request by the CBI Director written to the state government.
The failure of the SDF government to provide democracy in its true form to the Sikkimese, the MLA claimed was the main reason for going against the party.
“We are just performing a dress rehearsal right now and making the people aware, but the day we form the new party it will be a day to remember as the new party will be for the people and the poor, which will work for the betterment and upliftment of the people in its true words”, stated Mr Tamang.
Earlier, the gathering was addressed by Bhoj Raj Rai and others who have joined hands with the dissident Burtuk MLA.
