State Cabinet meets to sanction various departmental proposals, schemes and projects


GANGTOK, 16 Feb: The cabinet meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister on 09 February 2012 at the Cabinet Hall of Samman Bhawan, Gangtok. The cabinet approved various proposals relating to various departments.

ROADS AND BRIDGES DEPARTMENT

The cabinet approved the  proposal seeking approval and sanction of Rs.80.00 lakhs (Rupees eighty lakhs)only for the work "Carpeting of Namchi -Sumbuk Road Km 1st to 2nd (upto Blind School) in South Sikkim.

DEPARTMENT OF FOREST ENVIRONMENT & WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT

The cabinet approved the proposal seeking approval and sanction of Rs. 132.699 lakhs (Rupees one hundred thirty two lakhs sixty nine thousand nine hundred) only for Integrated Development of Wildlife Habitats at Kanchendzonga National Park, Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuarym, Fambonglho wildlife Sanctuary, Kyongnosla Alpine Wildlife Sanctuary, Pangolakha Wildlife Sanctuary, Kitam Bird Sanctuary, Maenam Wildlife Sanctuary and Barshey Rhododendron sanctuary.

RURAL MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPEMENT DEPARTMENT

The cabinet approved the proposal seeking approval and sanction of Rs. 30.08 crore for implementing 118 nos. of Rural Water Supply schemes and also solicits approval and sanction of Rs. 80.00 lakhs for support activities.

SOCIAL JUSTICE EMPOWERMENT AND WELFARE DEPARTMENT

The cabinet approved the proposal seeking approval and sanction of Rs.26.79 lakhs (Rupees twenty six lakhs seventy nine thousand) only for implementation of 06 (six) schemes in different areas of State benefitting 238 Scheduled Caste beneficiaries under Special Central Assistance to Scheduled Castes Sub-Plan.

FOOD SECURITY & AGRICULTURE DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT

The cabinet approved the proposal for according approval and sanction of Rs.100 lakhs (Rupees one hundred lakhs) only for the construction of 03 (three) nos of New VLW Centres in North Sikkim in the current financial year.

DEPARTMENT OF CULTURAL AFFAIRS & HERITAGE

The cabinet approved the proposal seeking approval and sanction of Rs.67,16,600/- (Rupees sixty seven lakhs sixteen thousand six hundred) only to be released as honorarium to existing 946 beneficiaries from March 2011 to Feb 2012 under Samajeek Sewa Bhatia.

DEPARTMENT OF ANIMAL HUSBANDRY, LIVESTOCK, FISHERIES & VETERINARY SERVICES

The cabinet approved the proposal seeking approval and enbloc-sanction of Rs. 1.00 crore  (Rupees one crore) only for distribution of piglets to the beneficiaries of four districts approved during village-to-village tour of the Chief Minister.

BUILDING AND HOUSING
The cabinet approved the proposal seeking approval and sanction of Rs. 79.87 lakhs (Rupees seventy nine lakhs eighty seven thousand) only for the construction of Judiciary Bunglow at Namchi in South Sikkim.
ROADS AND BRIDGES DEPARTMENT
The cabinet approved the proposal seeking approval and financial sanction of Rs. 818.00 lakhs only for works under 13th finance Commission.
The cabinet approved the proposal for according approval and sanction of Rs. 87,98,914.00 only for construction of approach road from Akkar Zoon road to Zoom School road in West Sikkim.

LAND REVENUE AND DISASTER MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT
The cabinet approved the proposal seeking approval and enbloc-sanction of rs. 100 lakhs (Rupees one hundred lakhs) only under Sikkim Sukumbasi (land less) Welfare Scheme, wherein Sukumbasis are given 1/4 of an acre of land.

HOME DEPARTMENT
The cabinet approved the proposal seeking administrative approval and financial sanction of Rs. 6,12,41,514/- only with an advance payment of Rs.4,83,48,234/- only as compensation for land acquired for construction of 2nd and 3rd IRBn Headquarters at Manglay,( Simchuthang )and Dumra in the block of Ben, South Sikkim.
