State Planning Commission discusses 12th Plan and Annual Plan 2012-13


GANGTOK, 20 Dec [IPR]: Deputy Chairman, State Planning Commission, SM Limboo chaired a meeting of the State Planning Commission (SPC) in which the Development Commissioner, AK Yadav and all the Officers of the DPERNECAD were present.

The meeting was held in the Conference Hall of the new Secretariat on 19 Dec which was organized and facilitated by DPERNECAD, as per a press communiqué received from the Development Planning, Economic Reforms & North Eastern Council Affairs Department, Government of Sikkim.
The Dev. Commissioner briefed the Dy. Chairman and members of the SPC on the progress made so far in the preparation of the 12th Five Year Plan and Annual Plan 2012-13. The meeting discussed the Government’s approach to formulation of l2th Five Year Plan 2012-2017.

The Deputy Chairman stressed that the commitments of the Chief Minister during his 42 days tour of the State was to find place in the 12th Five Year Plan proposals of the various line departments. The sanctions and commitments would be phased out accordingly.

Issues that confront the development aspects of the State were also discussed. The Deputy Chairman and members of the SPC emphasized that the monitoring and evaluation aspect must be further strengthened in the DPERNECAD.

The difficulties being faced by the Department would also receive due Government attention. It was decided to hold a meeting with all Secretaries and the Heads of Departments in which the CM would be requested to chair the proceedings.

The SPC also decided to hold an exclusive meeting with the Energy & Power Department and the Roads & Bridges Department in the first week of Jan, 2012.
