Namchi Govt School releases Platinum Jubilee souvenir

NAMCHI, 16 Nov: The Platinum Souvenir book, ‘Kaustub Chinha’, of the Government Senior Secondary School, Namchi, was released on the occasion of Children’s Day at a programme organized jointly by the alumni and school administration.
Present on the day as chief guest was area MLA, Binod Rai, also an alumni of the school.
‘Kaustub Chinha’ is an effort of the alumni of the school, edited by Thiru Prasad Nepal and Dr Nayan Rai.
The alumni body was also reshuffled on the day which now has Tika Maya Chamling as the chief patron, BT Tamang as the new president, while the other members have been retained.
Apart from this, the alumni body generally discussed that it would conduct various programmes like counseling and other necessary activities from time to time and also work on the prevailing cases of suicide and other social vices.
The body also decided that it would contribute Rs 25,000/- in the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the 18 September quake victims.
The school magazine was also released on the occasion.
