South reports one casualty and extensive property damage

The collapsed building at Jorethang Majhitar where one person died on Sunday night.
NAMCHI, 19 Sept: The Sunday evening earthquake left a litter of damaged houses and one person dead in South district. A three-storeyed building collapsed in Jorethang Majhigaon claiming one life and leaving two injured. The two were rescued last night itself and the dead body of the deceased retrieved this morning. The collapsed building has also damaged two adjoining buildings.
As per updates received from the DPO LR&DDM Pempa Norbu Sherpa, damage suffered across the South district are as follows:
Miniram-Singithang: 65 house severely damage.
Lunchuk-Kameray: 50 houses severely damage.
Ralong-Nalang GPU; 50 houses fully damage and three houses collapsed.
Mikhola-Kitam: 7 houses fully damaged and a mandir partially damaged.
Tingrithang GPU: 29 houses fully damaged, 100 houses severely and partially damaged and 20 families shifted to Namchi Government College by 9pm today and 10 families provided shelter at the Chief Minister’s house at Kholaghari.
Temi Tarku GPU: 114 houses severely damaged and 20 families evacuated and provided safe shelter.
Namchi: More than 50 RCC buildings severely damaged and riveted with cracks. The SPIL building has also developed cracks, as have the staff quarters at the Namchi District Jail. Boomtar landslide aggravated and nearby houses shifted to safe locations.
Sai Mandir Assangthang: several cracks have been reported.

Solophok Char Dham: Shiva statue showing cracks at several places. Gate leading to statue has also sustained cracks about 2 to 6 inches wide and many cracks reported on road leading to Solophok.
Melli: PHC had been severely damaged and shifted to nearby school and private houses.
More than nine school buildings have collapsed and another eight schools have reported major damage.
Sikip: 7 houses fully damaged.
Namthang: 30 houses damaged.
Cracks noticed on Namchi District Hospital, Namchi Government College and Parking Plaza.
