Won’t rest till Karmapa takes his seat at Rumtek, CM assures

RABONGLA, 02 June: Chief Minister Pawan Chamling today reiterated his stand in support of bringing the XVIIth Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje to his seat-in-exile at Rumtek Dharma Chakra Centre. Addressing a huge gathering at Ralong Monastery, he stressed that his stand has not changed till date and that he was “tirelessly” trying to bring the Karmapa to Sikkim.
Highlighting that the State Government has pursued the matter with every government at the Centre, he explained the final decision on the matter rested with the Central government. He however assured that he would not rest until the Karmapa has taken his seat at Rumtek.
On the occasion, he announced that the demand for electrification of Old Ralong Monastery and development of tourism-related infrastructure around it will be done taken up immediately, along with a new school building for Ralang-Linding School, a milk collection centre at Zimthang village among other demands.
