GANGTOK, 06 Aug: Social Justice, Empowerment and Welfare Department celebrated World Breast Feeding Week on the theme “A winning goal-for life” at the ICDS centre at Baluwakhani from 05-08 August.
A press release informs that the celebration was attended by Mission Director ICDS, BB Subba as the chief guest along with former ICDS Director, KK Subba and other officials. The function was addressed by the chief guest, Nutrition Cell Joint Director Samita Thapa, B Bardalai and ICDS supervisor Meena Subba where they highlighted the importance of ICDS centres, proper nutrition of mother and child, importance and benefits of breast feeding, etc.
More than 50 pregnant and nursing mothers attended the function.
