GANGTOK, 20 Aug: A case of cheating has been registered at the Sadar Police Station against one Francis of Goa for cheating a lady. As per the FIR lodged by the victim, on 18 August, the accused came to her beauty parlour and told her that he deals in gold jewelries and diamonds and would put diamonds in her jewelries.
Since the accused had been visiting her parlor for the past 3-4 days, the victim handed over her gold jewelries to him on good faith [01 gold necklace, 2½ tola and 01 gold bracelet 1½ tola] after which the accused went missing. Efforts are being made to trace out and arrest the accused.
