GANGTOK, 27 Aug: Dokham Tours and Travels in collaboration with Club Mahindra Royal Demazong conducted a daylong workshop - “4th Annual Capacity Building” - on 26 August here at the Chongyek, East Sikkim.
Sensitizing cab operators and local hotel staff on Tourism in Sikkim - past and future, TAAS president, Satish Bardewa said that they are the leading actors and face of the tourism industry in Sikkim. He urged them to be confident and committed toward their profession.
Stating that there has been a huge change in the way the tourism industry functions in the state, Mr Bardewa said that the state is now looking towards village or rural tourism. Here he urged those working in the tourism sector to be courteous and helpful towards tourists.
Deputy Director, Tourism Department, LP Targain spoke on Atithi Devo Bhava, where she said that providing a safe holiday destination is the policy of the Central Government.
AGM, RBI, Gangtok, AK Yadav spoke on Fake Indian Currency Notes [FICN] and Basic Banking while Unit Manager, SBI General Insurance Co. Ltd, Parag Saha Kundu spoke on General Insurance. Ex RM, SBI, RO, Gangtok, PT Sherpa spoke on the Dynamics of Entrepreneurship development and grooming.
