SDF Chujachen breaks new ground - holds elections for constituency level youth convenor

GANGTOK, 19 Aug: In a significant first for political parties in Sikkim, elections for the post of Sikkim Democratic Front party's youth convenor [for Chujachen constituency in East Sikkim] were held on Monday at the Rongli community hall. Shyam Kumar Pradhan won the election beating five other candidates.
A press release informs that former East Zilla Adhakshya, KN Pradhan, officiated as the Election Commissioner for the procedure while SDF WLC president, BLC president, BLC secretaries and Ward Panchayat members of nine GPUs under Chujachen Constituency cast their vote in the election.
Also present on the occasion were Area MLA, Chief Whip Bikram Pradhan, East Zilla Adhakshya Bimal Dawari, Samsher Bokhim, Election Commission cum Election Core Committee, Panchayats, party workers, constituency level, block level, ward level committees, youth and cheli members.
The release informs that Wangdi Sherpa was nominated as the president, Constituency Level Committee of 20th Chujachen Constituency. Mr. Sherpa was selected by the Area MLA and members of Election Core Committee. The Area MLA and Zilla Adhakshya East congratulated Shyam Kr. Pradhan and Wangdi Sherpa by offering them khadas and wished them success in the days to come.
