A press release informs that the inspection was carried out to assess the damages along the pipeline owing to the incessant rainfall in the past few days. The State Relief Commissioner cum Secretary directed officials of PHED to carry out the necessary restoration works immediately.
The team came across numerous landslides which may disrupt free flow of water supply, the release mentions.
The Commissioner has appealed to the general public of Gangtok to use potable water judiciously and help the department to provide sufficient water to all.
