Sangdong Boys and NHPC Vets through to semis
DIKCHU, 10 Aug: the first quarterfinal match of the Independence Day Football tournament underway here at the Dikchu Senior Secondary School ground was played between Sangdong Boys and Kedangthang FC. The Sangdong Boys emerged victorious 3 goals to 2. Meanwhile, in the second quarterfinal clash, NHPC Veterans defeated Major Seven 3-1.
The winner of the tournament will be awarded Rs. 30,000 in cash and a trophy while Rs. 15,000 will be awarded to runner-up team.
A total of 32 teams from different parts of the state are participating in the tournament which had bgun on 30 July.
