GANGTOK, 16 July: Sikkim Krantikari Morcha member Janga Bir Darnal has filed an FIR at Sadar Police Station today against the SDF party and former Speaker KT Gyaltsen for blaming SKM for the student protest.
The FIR states that the former Speaker has blamed SKM leaders for the demonstration by the college students in a press statement issued on Tuesday without any valid evidence. The FIR further reads that the press statement published in different newspapers today was inflammatory and defamatory.
“Such statements may incite violent reaction/ protest leading to law and order problem on top of the present volatile situation. If such situation occurs then Mr Gyaltsen and SDF party will become wholly responsible,” the FIR reads.
The FIR further states that it is a cognizable offence and requests for a criminal case to be registered against Mr. Gyaltsen in the interest of the society.
