GANGTOK, 06 June: The first budget session of the Ninth
Assembly of Sikkim Legislative Assembly is scheduled to be held from 23 to 28
June. The weeklong budget session has been called by the Governor, Shriniwas Patil
informed officials at the Legislative Assembly Secretariat.
On the opening day of the budget session, Governor Patil will
address the house for the first time as head of the Constitution.
Chief Minister Pawan Chamling who is also in charge of Finance
and Revenue and Expenditure will present his 15th consecutive budget
on the first day of the budget session 2014-15.
Also on the first day of the Budget Session, Martam-Rumtek
MLA, Dr Mechung Bhutia, is expected to be administered the oath of office since
he had missed the swearing in ceremony called on 28 May.
