SINGBEL LAD IS OFF TO SCINDIA BOYS SCHOOL ON FULL STATE
SCHOLARSHIP: Ajay Karki of Singbel Junior High School in East Sikkim [seen here
with the Headmaster TD Koirala] was felicitated and accorded a warm farewell by
his school on Friday as he prepares to leave for the prestigious Scindia Boys
School in Gwalior on full state scholarship. Ajay had secured the 15th position
in the Chief Minister’s Meritorious Scholarship exam held in December last
year. This rank has secured him a berth at Scindia Boys School, considered one
of the most prestigious public schools of the country. Singbel JHS is
understandably proud of this bright export and organised a formal farewell for
him on Friday, complete with a chief guest in former Headmaster RP Timsina, a
special guest in Patuk Singbel Panchayat President KB Chettri, a welcome
address, cultural performances, vote of thanks and many khadas. It is in dreams
come true like this that the CM’s Meritorious Scholarship scheme continues to
