GANGTOK, 04 June: Bharatiya Janta Party, Sikkim, president, Palden
Wangchuk Khangsarpa on behalf of the party has condoled the sudden demise of
senior BJP leader and Union Cabinet Minister for Rural Development, Gopinath
Munde on 03 June in a road accident.
In a press release, the BJP state unit president has said
that news of the death of Mr Munde has come as a rude shock. He has also has
wished for strength and fortitude to the bereaved family at this hour of grief
and irreparable loss.
Gopinath Munde was Deputy Chief Minister of Maharastra from
1995 to 1999 and was elected twice to India's Lower House of Parliament in 2009
and 2014. He had served as deputy leader of Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)
in Parliament.
