GANGTOK, 06 June: World Environment Day was observed in Old
Rumtek Monastery under the guidance of Karmapa Ugyen Trinley Dorje. As per a
press release, the Duche committee and monks of the monastery participated in
the function wherein 300 saplings like chaanp, tuni and others were planted in
and around the monastery premises. The Duche has thanked the Forest department
for providing saplings to the monastery.
