GANGTOK, 20 June: An exhibition-cum-sale of oil paintings began
this afternoon here at the Star Cinema Hall complex. The 10-day long exhibition
is being organized by a group of Gangtok youth on behalf a Bangalore-based
organization, Streisand.
The exhibition mainly features paintings by artists from Streisand
and has a few from the Darjeeling Hills. A total of 62 paintings are on display.
Organizers, Ittefaque Usmani, Roshan Singh and Bikash Singh,
inform that they are organizing such an exhibition for the first time in Sikkim.
They inform that the funds raised from the exhibition-cum-sale will be used for
social welfare activities by the organization.
