GANGTOK, 26 May: Minister Social Justice, Empowerment and Welfare and Public Health Engineering Department, Tulshi Devi Rai reached Sumbuk to thank voters and SDF supporters of Sumbuk-Kartikey and Sumbuk Gram Panchayat Units under Melli constituency for the overwhelming votes in favour of SDF in the Assembly election 2014.
A press release informs that the Minister thanked all party workers of all levels for their support and their valuable votes in favour of peace, security, prosperity and development. “You have voted for the safe future and holistic development of the state so on behalf of our Chief Minister and SDF party president, Pawan Chamling, I thank you all for your belief in our dedication, commitment and honesty”, she said.
She added that a few opposition parties tried to misguide the people on baseless issues but the people of Sikkim voted otherwise. Ms Rai assured to discharge her duties as Minister whole heartedly and asked for positive suggestions and support from the people of Melli.
We should raise our voice against the delay in all sanctioned works and the officials concerned have to discharge their duties properly, she added.
In the function, the people of Sumbuk-Kartikey and Lungchok-Kamarey Gram Panchayat Unit felicitated the Minister with a congratulation letter and shawl by Girish Chandra Rai, the release informs.
Kamarey Bal Panchayat presented a colourful cultural programme in the function. The programme was also addressed by Girish Chandra Rai, RP Gurung and others.
