GANGTOK, 16 May: The last constituency to be counted is also
the smallest. The Sangha has an electoral college of 2,904 voters and of these,
2167 votes were polled. SKM’s Sonam Lama, formerly of NASBO, won this as SKM’s
tenth seat in the Assembly by securing 1,096 votes against the 971 polled by
SDF’s Palden Lachungpa. Congress’ Acharya Tshering Lama, a former Sangha MLA as
was the SDF candidate, received 108 votes.
