GANGTOK, 09 May: Contraband substances seized under the
Sikkim Anti Drugs Act 2006 were destroyed by the CID Prosecution Branch [East],
Gangtok at the District & Sessions Court premises this morning. These
contraband substances were seized under 96 criminal cases since 2010 at
different Police Stations in the East District.
The contraband substances destroyed today comprised of 4,004
tablets of N-10, 36,472 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon, 98 bottles of Recodex, 145
bottles of Eskuf, 118 bottles of Nelcof, 15 bottles of Corex, 5 packets of
Ganja [Marijuana], 8 nos of 2 ml Pupoeyorphine, 9 pieces of 2 ml Diagepam and 1
½ gm of Brown Sugar.
Court Inspector [East], CID Prosecution Branch, Gangtok,
Tshering Yangzom informed that these contraband substances were seized under 96
criminal cases at different police stations in the state since 2010 but mostly cases
in the year 2012-13. She further added that after the disposal of these cases,
the Court had ordered that these contraband substances be destroyed.
